Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's 21 championships have been achieved on hardcourt
A comeback Medvedev secured his maiden championship for over two years with success over opponent Moutet in the Almaty Open title decider.
The Russian, a former world number one, has experienced a torrid year, managing just a single victory at the Grand Slams and experiencing a meltdown at the New York tournament.
His varied form on the ATP Tour - and difficulties with his serving in specific - led to him exiting of the world's top 10 and eventually parting ways with long-time trainer Gilles Cervara.
Presently working with Johansson and Goetzke, Medvedev has steadily progressed in the past month - peaking in a closely contested 7-5 4-6 6-3 victory over challenger Moutet.
This represents Medvedev's initial trophy after the Rome competition and first on a hard court from spring of the previous year.
The win also indicates the Russian has won twenty-one championships at twenty-one different events.
"This marks the first occasion I'm at a event with my children together, so to win a trophy is really nice," commented ranked player Medvedev.
"This title is in tribute of my child my daughter, because the first title I achieved when my older daughter Alisa was delivered was for her."
The athlete, the former major winner, had lost his previous six title deciders, featuring in that event in the past months.
Medvedev's counter-punching play style and regular emotional displays on the playing surface had led commentators to question if his ability to play at the highest level was concluded.
However the player has altered his approach in recent weeks, making an effort to come to the net and play assertively, backed up by an improved serving game.
He fought back from a deficit in the opening set against the difficult Frenchman, securing 4 of the concluding five points to go ahead.
The competitors swapped break points in the second set before the Frenchman, striving for his maiden professional victory, took control to push for a decider.
Moutet rescued four initial break points in a close deciding set before the champion won the break to fifteen to secure the win.
Appropriately, Medvedev earned the title with a point at the net, with Moutet unable to control a shot after a lengthy match.
